Eyeliner Tattooing

Eyeliner is a popular cosmetic procedure intended to enhance the look and allure of the eyes. While it isn’t a total substitute for those folks who favor bold or dramatic cosmetic eyeliner, it is a lovely enhancement you can wake up with every day.  Ideally, the intention of eyeliner tattooing is to give your lashes a very thick and dark appearance.  Whether you choose to get upper lid, lower lid or full lid liner, you will love the convenience of having your eyes ready to face the world.

A basic brown/black combo is the single most effective color for the majority of our clients as it looks uniformly dark at the base of the lashes and compliments most hair and skin tones.  All cosmetic procedures require two visits, generally six weeks apart. The two-part process is necessary because there is a possibility of losing up to 60% of the pigment (usually a week to ten days) during the first healing period. This is due to the constant blinking of the eye, as well as the natural moisture content of the eye. The second appointment is scheduled for you to come in, have your eyeliner evaluated and replenish any pigment loss that may have occurred during your initial healing period.

When you come in for your first appointment we will place a thick eye drop called Celluvisc in each eye followed by the application of a topical anesthetic crème. The topical will remain on the skin for approximately 20 mins and will be wiped away before the tattooing begins. The topical will alleviate discomfort, leaving you to feel only a gentle vibration during the tattooing. All you have to do is relax and be still.  The application of pigment only takes a few minutes per side.  When done, you will be asked to evaluate the work and decide if you desire more length or thickness to be added. The sensation you will feel will be as though you have been crying, nothing more than that. This feeling will dissipate in the days following as you heal.
